Act of consecration of Poland and ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
In the extraordinary circumstances affecting our country Poland, and all of Europe, we face unprecedented sudden changes like the closing of judicial courts, universities, schools and shopping malls; our medical services are overrun and resources depleted; millions of people are quarantined or under lockdown, many of them are deprived of their daily income – none of this has been seen in Europe since World War II. Moreover, perhaps never before in the world’s history have so many millions of Catholics in different parts of the globe been deprived at the same time of the possibility to attend Sunday Mass! Yet the dangers which lay before Poland, as well as the entire world, go far beyond the crisis of the Coronavirus…
In times of peril and crisis, even the most fervent prayer cannot substitute for a prudent and perseverant action, which is the right order of things. Yet, stating that prayer in such circumstances is useless would simply be saying impiously to God: ‘We will get through this without Your help!’ while, obviously, only God’s Providence has full control of the overall situation.
This is why, faced with this extraordinary situation, we call on all Poles, our clergy and public authorities to prepare for a consecration of Poland and ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, on the feast of the Annunciation, March 25th. In these times of modern means of communication, one can carry out such an act with others without breaking any quarantine – all that is required is a common spirit of faith and a confident heart, no matter where we find ourselves.
We also invite Catholics throughout the entire world to join this initiative with their clergy and public authorities, to consecrate their countries and themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the feast of the Annunciation, in union with us in Poland. Indeed, foreseeing future tribulations, Our Lady said at Fatima: My Immaculate Heart will be your Refuge and the Way that will lead you to God.
Clergy who would like to report on the participation of their parish or community may inform us of it through: email@example.com.
In order to express our faith and our confidence in the Immaculate Heart of our Heavenly Mother throughout the whole world, we will publish, as things progress, a list of all participating parishes and communities.
